THE SPACE-TIME DIMENSION OF THE UNIVERSITY IN THE CONTEXT OF ITS GEOPOLITICS

Changes in the policy of any institution of higher education are analyzed in the
context of duration in time and space, that is, global and local geopolitics. Eighty-year history of the
Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages is characterized by
his positioning at the national, regional and international levels. The place and role of this
educational institution in the modern system of higher education of the republic is revealed through
transformations and innovations in the educational process from the time of its opening in 1941 to
the present day. Positive transformations in the activities of the university are due to the skillful
organizational skills and business qualities of the rectors. Its local geohistory from the Kazakh
State Institute of Teachers of Foreign Languages and the Almaty Pedagogical Institute of Foreign
Languages became a kind of geopolitics of the university, where prominent statesmen and scientists
worked. The geopolitics of the university is aimed at training highly qualified personnel taking into
account the requirements of modernity
