SOCIO-CULTURAL CHANGES IN KOREA SINCE INDEPENDENCE AND DURING THE PERIOD OF MODERNIZATION

It is well known that the Koreans who moved to Kazakhstan during the period of historical deportation are rich in their own historical and cultural heritage. They managed to glorify the rich historical heritage of their ancestors and preserve the centuries-old national traditions and customs, as well as folklore elements of Korean culture. The study of the history and mentality of the Korean people, as one of the ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan, as well as the foundations of society and the social characteristics of modern South Korea, is of great importance for the development of domestic Korean studies. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to consider the specifics of the social and cultural transformations of South Korean society during the process of internationalization in the international space.
As is known, the new Korean society has experienced various socio-cultural changes in the era of globalization, attaching great importance to the preservation of traditions, customs and national identity in accordance with the stages of world modernization. In this regard, this research work will highlight such important issues as the preservation by Koreans of their original national values in the context of international integration, the spread of traditional culture and the strengthening of strong positions on the world stage, as well as the social changes that have taken place in Korea since gaining independence and during the period of modernization. As for the scientific and practical significance of the research work, the study and development of the unique experience of the spiritual and social evolution of South Korea in the framework of major world processes is of great importance for the formation of high-quality socio-cultural development strategies that will be effective for Kazakhstani society in the modern era of globalization.
In the course of writing the article, official documents and sources on the proposed topic were used, the scientific views of Korean, Russian and foreign scientists were analyzed. Regarding the methodology of the work, the historical and ethnographic method, as well as methods of systematization and generalization, were used in the course of the study.
As a result of the scientific work, it was determined that the traditionalism inherent in the Korean national mentality is now an important part of Korean society. It was revealed that Koreans treat their traditional culture with special respect and carefully preserve their valuable spiritual heritage, support the idea of continuity in public life, which strengthens the national and everyday characteristics of the ethnic group in the modern era.
