THE IMAGE OF A NEIGHBOR IN WORLD POLITICS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE IMAGE OF CHINA IN KAZAKHSTAN)

Abstract

In this article, the author examines the process of forming the image of a neighbor in world politics through the prism of Kazakh-Chinese relations. The question of the perception of a neighbor is an important tool in the process of building good neighborly relations. The image of China and the Chinese is contradictory in the Kazakh society. In this article, the author tries to consider the question of the evolution of perception of the image of China, through consideration of the main stages of the formation and development of bilateral relations. The problem itself is relevant and very controversial. As we know, China was mainly formed in a negative image, this is the consequences of the Soviet-Chinese confrontation, and historically China was perceived as an enemy of nomadic peoples. The negative perception of the image of a neighbor mainly affects the further development of relations, of course not at the state level, but in private.

         The purpose of this article is to review the problems of the evolution of the formation of sinophobia in Kazakhstan. In the article, the author elaborates on the opinion that in current publications, Beijing is purposefully implementing the strategy of expansion, expressing the intention to settle the border space of its citizens. However, many facts and documents do not allow for a one-sided explanation of this issue, as scientifically researched.         In the course of writing the article, according to the topic, official documents and sources about the start of the trade war between China and the USA were used, as well as the scientific views of Chinese, Kazakh, Russian and scientists from the Internet. As for the methodology of the work, systematization, generalization and historical-ethnographic methods were used during the research.
