IMAGE OF KAZAKHSTAN-RUSSIAN BORDER: FEATURES OF REPRESENTATION

The paper is concerned on understanding the phenomena of state border between Kazakhstan and Russia through the lens of public opinion. Context of modern international relations demand to carefully work to questions understanding of the historical experience that Kazakhstan and Russia have in the border zone. Research that based on «evidence-based approach» have the high level of actuality, throw possibility to analyze dates, that formed as results of as a result of qualitative and quantitative research.
This paper was prepared on the results of sociological survey organized by working group of the project BR10965282 "Kazakhstan-Russian border: historical context and the new political reality". The survey involved residents of border areas in the amount of 2,000 respondents (aged 18 and over) living in West Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Atyrau, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, and East Kazakhstan regions.
The dates were used for forming the expert vision about understanding historical context and political reality the border between Kazakhstan and Russia as one of the longest state borders in the world. This is an important practical task, given the difficult foreign policy context.
