Abstract. This article explores the role of sport as a tool of soft power in modern international relations, especially in the context of modern geopolitical tensions in the world. The study highlights the ability of sports to influence the formation of perception and use nonviolent methods to influence others. The success of athletes in the international arena contributes to the strengthening of cultural values and promotes diplomatic relations between countries. Examples of the use of sports during the Cold War and research methods, including realistic and liberal approaches, are also analyzed. Sports diplomacy is recognized as a powerful tool for shaping global interactions, but its diplomatic successes are often valued less than military victories. An important aspect is to ensure the competent training
