This research article examines the regional integration efforts of the MERCOSUR, a trade bloc in South America, and the EAEU, a regional organization in Eurasia. The analysis is grounded in the premise that these two initiatives represent vastly different regional blocs in terms of historical, political, economic and external circumstances. By conducting a comparative analysis of their establishment and evolution, this study aims to identify the driving forces, challenges and outcomes that have shaped these distinct regional integration efforts. The analysis also delves into the various factors that have contributed to the varying degrees of success and challenges experienced by the MERCOSUR and the EAEU. Through this comparative perspective, this research article offers valuable and nuanced insights into the complex dynamics and multifaceted implications of regional integration, transcending the traditional economic and political spheres to encompass sociocultural, geopolitical and sustainable development dimensions.
