INTERESTS OF CHINA AND KAZAKHSTAN IN REGIONAL ECONOMIC COOPERATION

Abstract

In recent years, the People's Republic of China has had the status of an important economic zone in the global and regional markets. China is one of the key trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan and is among the key investors in the economy of Kazakhstan. Despite the recent financial crisis, as well as pessimistic news about the recession in the global economy taking place against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic, trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and China continues to show positive indicators.

However, when it comes to relations with China, we also need to understand that the main focus is on benefits such as economic diversification and cheap money making, and that potential risks cannot be sufficiently focused. Since the interests of the population are the interests of the State, a number of concerns of the population arising in the course of such relations are not unfounded and require full study and consideration. To identify the causes of such challenges, it is important to study the personal interests of each side, that is, the ROK and the PRC, to determine the points of contact of these interests.

In this regard, the main purpose of the study is to study the issues of cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China, taking into account the interests of both states. To achieve the goal, the following tasks were performed during the study: assessment of the current state of Kazakh-Chinese relations; determination of the individual interests of each state in cooperation; study of specific projects aimed at developing such ties, assessment of how they satisfy the interests of each of the parties; identification of risks to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China arising in Sino-Kazakh relations. As a result of the study, it was concluded that Chinese-Kazakh cooperation, of course, should be, but we should pay more attention to the personal interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the interests of the people.
