THE CIVIL WAR IN TAJIKISTAN AND THE PEACEKEEPING ROLE OF THE UN AND KAZAKHSTAN

The purpose of this article is to analyze the activities of the UN peacekeeping forces, observer countries, as well as Kazakhstan in the settlement of the civil war in Tajikistan. The author claims that the United Nations has not only provided invaluable assistance in resolving interfaith conflicts and achieving peace in the country, but has also gained important experience in solving specific situations that may be useful for its activities in the future.
In the article, the authors emphasize the negotiation process and its results, which took place in order to stabilize the difficult situation in the state, as well as about the role of the CSTO regional organization in settling uprisings in a number of cities of Kazakhstan, as a similar situation in Tajikistan. Analyzing Tajikistan's experience in overcoming the war, achieving national reconciliation and achieving political stability, the authors point out that attempts to resolve political and social conflicts in Central Asia through the use of force alone are not promising
