The article focuses on contradictions of Soviet society in relation to the policy of Nazi Germany towards prisoners of war. This research is carried out as part of frame studies of Kazakhstan prisoners of war as part of the Turkestan Legion from 1939 to 1945, particularly in Nazi Germany, Finland, and other European countries.
The study of the policy of Nazi Germany towards Soviet prisoners of war during the Second World War is found on the analysis of archives and declassified documents in Kazakhstan, and on the documents regarding issues of ethnicity in the Soviet society of that time. Documents accepted by former citizens of the USSR, repatriated from Germany and sovereigns as prisoners of war, include case files accepted by members of the Turkestan National Legion, as well as a special structure of concentration camps, such as the Abwehrgroup, Sonderlager, North Caucasian Legion and Soyuz fighters against Bolshevism. The content of these documents substantiates the process of social conflict in Soviet society and the investigators of Nazi Germany, which was held accountable in accordance with the collective status of prisoners of war.
