The article describes the modern transformation of socio-cultural processes in Japanese society. Despite the demands of global modernization and globalization, modern Japanese society pays great attention to traditions, past lives, ancient monuments, trying to preserve the norms of behavior and forms of culture inherited from our ancestors. He explains the vitality of traditions in the system of political thought, as well as in the social behavior of the Japanese, linking them with various situations in modern society.
In this article, it is scientifically proven that the concept of "giri", which the Japanese consider their duty, is a kind of moral necessity that sometimes forces a person to do something against his will or without regard to his own benefit. Giri is an honorable duty, based not on abstract concepts of good and bad, but on the strict regulation of human relations, which requires appropriate actions in certain situations.
