Abstract

At present, in connection with the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the sanctions of the Euro-Atlantic powers against it to enforce peace, our northern neighbor has stepped up interest in the states of the post-Soviet space, in particular Central Asia.

The main purpose of the article is to identify Russia's foreign policy strategy towards the post-Soviet states of Central Asia in order to ensure its own national security and neutralize the efforts of NATO states in the Eurasian space.

The scientific and practical significance of the article lies in identifying areas of possible mutually beneficial interaction between Russia and the countries of Central Asia in the context of global confrontation, since three states – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are members of the CSTO and the EAEU (excluding Tajikistan), which imposes contractual obligations on them. The main methods of scientific research used in the article are general scientific - logical analysis, systemic and comparative. The methodology is based on a systematic approach to the analysis of international relations, which allows for a comprehensive assessment of all multi-vector processes in various subsystems.
