Abstract

Abstract. This article examines the historical aspects of diplomatic relations and trends in the development of political initiatives between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the state of Japan. When the Soviet Union collapsed and the countries of Central Asia achieved sovereignty, the Japanese state initiated important political initiatives to establish political and economic ties. For example, one can cite the example of the major political program "regional diplomacy of the Silk Road", "Central Asia + Japan", the main initiatives aimed at turning Central Asia, Afghanistan and Southwest Asia into a "corridor of peace and stability".

The main relevance of the article is that the main reason for the interest of the Japanese state in the countries of Central Asia is studied. In addition, the main aspects of the transformation of political initiatives and economic assistance are differentiated. It is analyzed the willingness of Kazakhstan to raise cooperation with Japan to a new level of strategic partnership. It is comprehensively considered that Kazakhstan plays a role as an investment and technology hub for Japanese companies in the region, and that Kazakhstan is an environment that facilitates the work of Japanese investors. For Kazakhstan, Japan has a great authority in promoting technological reforms in the industrial sector based on the policy of economic diversification.

The research on this topic uses complex theoretical research methods, methods of comparison, differentiation, generalization, systematization.
