This article aims to analyze and compare the school education systems of Kazakhstan with those of selected countries, utilizing the insights derived from the PISA 2022 results. The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) serves as a critical benchmark for evaluating the educational performance of 15-year-old students across various nations, focusing on key competencies in mathematics, reading, and science. By examining Kazakhstan's performance in relation to other countries, this study seeks to identify strengths and weaknesses within its educational framework and to understand the broader implications of these findings in a global context.
Understanding educational performance is vital for several reasons. First, it provides insights into the effectiveness of different educational policies and practices, allowing countries to learn from one another. Second, it highlights the importance of educational equity and access, which are essential for fostering social mobility and economic development. In an increasingly interconnected world, the ability to compare educational outcomes across borders is crucial for informing policy decisions and improving educational systems.
The methodologies employed in this comparative analysis include quantitative data analysis of PISA 2022 results, focusing on mean scores and performance trends in mathematics, reading, and science. Additionally, qualitative assessments of educational policies and practices in Kazakhstan and other countries are integrated to provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing student performance. Key findings indicate that while Kazakhstan has made significant strides in educational reform, challenges remain in achieving parity with higher-performing nations. The analysis reveals specific areas for improvement, such as enhancing teaching quality and addressing socio-economic disparities, which are critical for advancing Kazakhstan's educational outcomes on the global stage.
