The article examines the role and significance of the Humanities disciplines, in particular, history in the development of critical thinking. The authors draw attention to the fact that these problems can be solved by using a complex of modern innovative pedagogical technologies and multimedia projects. The article indicates and reveals the main directions of training as the development of Informatization of society. New information technologies, without replacing traditional teaching methods, complement them and create new opportunities for the development of the entire education system
